It’s been a while since I last posted an update; things have changed - quite a lot. The absolutely tremendous big change is the arrival of a newborn in our household, which has rather shaken things up. In particular, my free time and energy have dropped rather close to zero.
The Drag’n’Derp has always been a labour of love: I handbuild them here in Sydney, including milling out the shells and a quite extensive set of tests. That’s why they tend to go in and out of stock: when life gets busy, I just don’t have the time.
I’d like to find a sustainable solution for keeping them available - without compromising on quality. That probably means putting a bunch of work into finding new suppliers, and developing more automated manufacturing processes; these are things that will take time.
At the moment, what spare energy I do have is being funnelled into one of my other projects, the Saturn Satisfier for the Sega Saturn (see video, Patreon). It’s been mostly finished for some years, and it’s now or never: I need to get it finished so people can actually used it.
When that’s out of the way I expect to come back to this. News will appear here and on my Twitter.
While I’m here, I’d like to thank everyone who has supported and enjoyed the Drag’n’Derp so far; and to thank you all for waiting so patiently.
